This is a receiver position responsible for timely and accurate receipt of produce, grocery and misc. items ordered. All items will be verified for quantity and quality and placed in specified areas of the warehouse. This position performs warehouse activity and other related duties as required. Overtime hours, working weekends and holidays, and starting at early morning start times are required in order to successfully meet customers’ needs.


  • Unload inbound trucks.

  • Physically inspects product for weight, condition, temperature, and quality.

  • Rotates products daily during the receiving-stocking activities using the first-in-first-out (FIFO) method of dropping overstocks down to picking slots as vacancy allows to provide proper rotation and reduce product waste.

  • Tags produce with a slot label and placed in the correct slot location.

  • Ensures coolers are dropped, level-off, down-stacked, organized, and clean of debris, free of damage and poor quality product.

  • Checks all pick slots for any damaged or opened boxes, repairs minor rips in cases or bags. When unable to do minor repairs, writes up damaged product with quantity, slot number, item number, pack size and description.

  • Monitors warehouse for signs of rodent infestation; notifies manager if signs are identified in an effort to reduce product loss.

  • Cleans up all spillage, removes any product stored on the floor, sweeps the warehouse floor, pulls all shrink wrap tape or string from slots, and performs other activities assigned in an effort to reduce accidents and enhance sanitation.

  • Stacks all empty pallets into proper location and separates broken and unusable pallets from usable pallets; cleans aisles of all debris in an effort to reduce accidents.

  • Cleans up aisles and pick up warehouse at the end of the shift.

  • Strictly adhere to company Proper Work Techniques and Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Adheres to all safety rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures at all times without exception.

  • Observes sanitation requirements in order to comply with Company policy and food safety inspection agencies.

  • Motivate and assist in maintain positive inter-departmental involvement and engagement.

  • Attend all required company meetings.

  • Perform any additional tasks as directed by management personnel.


  • Conforms to appropriate equipment operation rules and practices in an effort to reduce accidents and injuries.

  • Ensure all power equipment maintenance reports are properly verified and completed for all pre-trip / post-trip inspections in accordance with OSHA regulations and FreshPoint policies / procedures.

  • Maintain, secure and safely operate all assigned equipment, including but not limited to hand cart, pallets, load bars, and personal protective equipment.

  • Ensures that assigned equipment is maintained and clean and reports repair or service needs to the Safety Manager in an effort to reduce equipment damage.

  • Ensures the availability of fully operational equipment at all times {i.e.: plug batteries into power outlet}.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent {General Education Degree – GED}.

  • One or more years’ experience in a warehouse environment.


  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred in the areas of: Business, Distribution or Supply Chain.

  • One or more years’ experience with extensive produce knowledge and experience.

  • Solid understanding of produce varieties handled in a wholesale operation.

  • Previous experience operating an electric pallet jack and/or forklift.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.


  • Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within first two weeks.

  • Obtain License to Lift Certification from Sysco within first 30 days.

The associate is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The vibration and noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
