Summary of the position:
The Automated Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining systems associated with Sysco’s Automated Systems including; Rapid Store- Mini Load Stacker system, standard conveyors, Multi-Level Vertical Conveyor (MVC), infeed/out feed units and Automated machine stretch film pallet wrappers.
The work schedule for this position is: Su- Thur. 1p- 930p
Troubleshoot MVC anomalies and stoppages using the Human/Machine Interface (HMI) stations controlled by PLCs.
Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing or modifying system components.
Troubleshoot all non-functioning electronic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components & systems and quickly return them to service.
Become the system expert of Sysco’s BOT fleet, including repair/replacement of all mechanical, electrical or electronic subsystems onboard.
Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment and thoroughly document all actions and repairs. Ensure quality maintenance and complete documentation via the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Maintain all systems and subsystems of the Sysco Automatic Robotic system.
Ensure rapid equipment return to service by performing thorough in-depth troubleshooting on any non-functioning or faulted system, subsystem or component.
Keep supervisors informed of specific problems and suggested actions, including approximate time required for repairs.
Troubleshoot equipment using computer interfaces and custom software.
Be proficient in all necessary Lockout/Tag out procedures applicable to the Sysco Automatic Robotic system.
Be proficient in performing all Preventive Maintenance Inspection functions including: cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checking, current measurements, checking electrical systems.
Be proficient in all conveyor maintenance including: repairing broken chain, replacing roller, realigning, replacing control system sensors, replacing drive motors, etc. on conveyors; resetting controller system, cleaning, adjusting or replacing sensors.
Perform Preventive Maintenance on all BOTs – cleaning, sensor alignment and calibration, tolerance checking, uploading firmware, and testing system via command line scripts.
Perform Preventive Maintenance actions on automated equipment including checking tolerance repeatability and electrical checks.
Perform Preventive Maintenance actions on automated conveyor equipment as directed.
Document repairs, PMs, parts usage, and time by completing work orders in a web-based computerized maintenance data collection system.
Responsible for clean-up of equipment and removal of replaced parts from work areas after repairs are completed.
Ability to work independent of supervisor following maintenance procedures and manuals.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and service manuals.
Assist other maintenance team members in repairs of automatic equipment as required.
Assist team with material handling, inventory management and other tasks instructed by supervision.
High school Diploma or Equivalent
Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance of mechanical systems.
Be proficient in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical, electrical and electronic components and subsystems of the Sysco Automatic Robotic System.
Possess an excellent mechanical aptitude and be able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic and electric systems. Must have a working understanding of DC, AC and stepper motors, PLC and digital I/O logic, various sensors including proximity, ultrasonic and photoelectric.
Be able to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics, mechanical diagrams and Illustrated Parts Breakdowns for troubleshooting and repairs, while understanding complex automated system drawings and component specification sheets.
Maintain all supplied hand and test tools required to maintain automated equipment e.g. replace rollers, drive motors, gearboxes, sprockets and network equipment.
Be able to work at heights up to 40ft.
Demonstrate total proficiency in the use of hand, power, and specialized measuring tools.
Be competent in Microsoft Windows-based computer operation for HMI control of automated equipment.
Possess an Associate Degree or equivalent experience in electronics, automotive, automation or equivalent field.
Dematic Mini loader and Phoenix Wrappers experience preferred
Must be available to work night shift
Ability to read, comprehend, write and speak English.
Ability to problem solve, Assessment/definition of issue and impact to automated system b) Correct issue causing fault
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Demonstrated knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, and ability to learn Sysco technology software and programs. Must have excellent computer skills.
Ability to successfully engage and lead individual and team discussions and meetings.
Ability to apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner.
Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments, operating companies and Corporate in a proactive and constructive manner.
Ability to work in a disciplined manner and capable of following established procedures, practices and comply with local, state and federal regulations.

The associate may occasionally be required to travel to other Operating Companies or the corporate office as business needs dictate (i.e. training, business continuation, etc.). The associate is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
